It might be gloomy outside, but seeing the progress at Elk Brewing North sure brightens our day!
The Brewery will be closed today, January 25th, for our employee Holiday Party! We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We will make it up to you tomorrow. Join us as we release THREE new beers; Spruce Stout, MI Chinook SMASH, and the return of John’s French Toast. Cheers!
Elk Brewing is growing and we need more room! “Our current location at 700 Wealthy Street is at capacity and we need more room for brewing and distributing,” says Co-Owners, Eric Karns and Jeff DeLongchamp. ELK Brewing’s second Brewpub & Restaurant will be located in Comstock Park on Dodge Street. The location is off West River Drive, near the entrance of the Fifth Third Ballpark.
ELK Brewing North will have five times the brewing capacity and three times the room of the current Brewpub on Wealthy Street. The new, larger production facility will help fullfil the demand for more kegs and house our new bottling line. Bottled ELK brews should hit the coolers by the end of the summer!
The new Brewpub will have indoor seating for over 100, with an additional 120 on the seasonal patio. The pub will have twenty-five taps (including locally made ciders and wine), a small retail area for ELK merchandise, and a more extensive food menu than our current location.
Construction began in December 2015. The warmer temps gave us a great jumpstart and we are well on our way toward opening early summer of 2016! We are working with DAR Development Inc., on the build-out of the project. “We believe this new location will be a great addition to Plainfield Township and the Comstock Park area. We want to provide a family friendly place where everyone is welcome,” says Owner, Eric Karns.
Our Wealthy Street location will continue to offer the same great craft beer in addition to brewing some specialty beers that will only be offered at that location.
Stay tuned to our social media accounts and join the email list for updates on our progress and announcements regarding open positions in the ELK Family. We ask that you hold your employment inquires and resumes until after the announcement is made. We wouldn’t want your excellent application to get lost in the shuffle!!
We are looking forward to spending the summer with you at ELK Brewing North! Cheers!
Thank you Veterans! Today we honor all who served and are serving! Stop in today with proof of service and receive 50% off all food and beverages. If you see him around, say “Thanks” to our favorite Veteran, Owner, Eric Karns.
